Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for NGS (next-generation sequencing) and multiomics services. You will partner with R&D, operations, bioinformatics, and commercial teams to define product roadmaps, translate scientific requirements into scalable service offerings, and deliver high-quality sequencing and multiomics solutions to customers and collaborators.
What You’ll Do
- Drive product strategy and roadmap for NGS & multiomics services, aligned to business goals and market needs
- Translate scientific and customer requirements (NGS, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) into clear product specifications
- Partner with R&D and bioinformatics to define technical requirements, pipelines, QC metrics, and validation plans
- Work with operations to scale lab workflows, manage capacity planning, and optimize cost and turnaround time
- Own feature prioritization and backlog for service enhancements; coordinate cross-functional execution
- Lead customer-facing discovery sessions and collect feedback to improve service usability and accuracy
- Monitor market trends in genomics, multiomics, and sequencing technologies to inform competitive differentiation
- Define KPIs and report on product performance, quality, and adoption
Who You Are (Required Qualifications)
- 3+ years product management experience in life sciences, biotech, or scientific instrument/services environment, with direct exposure to NGS or multiomics preferred
- Strong technical understanding of next-generation sequencing workflows, library prep, instrumentation, and data outputs
- Experience working with bioinformatics teams and familiarity with common analysis pipelines and QC metrics
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional initiatives and delivering products/services to market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex scientific concepts for commercial and technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to prioritize product decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Background in molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or related scientific discipline (MS or PhD a plus)
- Experience with multiomics (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) productization and service delivery
- Familiarity with regulatory/quality systems relevant to lab services (e.g., CLIA, ISO) or experience supporting validation activities
- Prior involvement in lab operations scaling, LIMS integrations, or sample logistics
- Customer-facing product or commercial experience selling scientific services
Skills & Tools
- Product management: roadmap development, backlog prioritization, stakeholder alignment
- NGS technologies: Illumina, Ion Torrent, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore (knowledge of at least one)
- Bioinformatics concepts: pipelines, QC metrics, variant calling, transcript quantification
- Data-driven decision making: metrics, KPIs, product analytics
- Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, LIMS, Slack, Git (familiarity helpful)
Location & Work Model
This role is based in Boardman, OR. Specific on-site/remote expectations and any relocation support will be discussed during the interview process.
