Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Technical Integrator to serve as the primary link between the client's prototyping team (Cosmic Horizon) and operational end users. The Technical Integrator will embed with mission users at customer locations, gather operational requirements, and deliver workflow-automation and AI-enabled integration solutions. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity in Chantilly, VA with hands-on technical responsibilities and substantial field deployments.

What You’ll Do

• Deploy to domestic and international customer sites to embed with operational users and field representatives.
• Act as the technical integrator between Confidential Client’s prototyping team (Cosmic Horizon) and operational end users.
• Conduct user-needs assessments to understand mission workflows, pain points, data sources, constraints, and desired outcomes.
• Translate user challenges into actionable technical requirements, user stories, integration plans, and development priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical work: software development, scripting, coding, data-pipeline development, application integration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Support design, prototyping, deployment, and sustainment of workflow-automation and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Integrate prototypes with approved mission systems, data sources, and user workflows while following security and data-handling requirements.
• Evaluate prototype performance with users, collect feedback, identify defects and usability issues, and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate technical activities among developers, data scientists, engineers, mission users, stakeholders, and field representatives.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with mission users and stakeholders to support capability adoption.
• Communicate technical status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to government leadership and project stakeholders.
• Support Agile planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, iterative development, and transition of prototypes to enduring capabilities.

Travel requirement

• This role requires substantial travel and extended deployments, typically approximately two to three months per rotation.
• Expect at least two embedded rotations per fiscal year (minimum ~four months away annually); deployments may occur up to three times per year.
• Travel may include domestic and overseas locations and may require work outside normal duty hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (required).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (required).
• Demonstrated knowledge of coding and software-development practices sufficient to contribute to technical projects.
• Ability to gather and document user needs and translate them into technical requirements with supervision or limited guidance.
• Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods to support operational users.
• Experience applying software-development, data-engineering, systems-integration, or technical-analysis skills to solve user/mission problems.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment and periodic drug testing and polygraph examinations (as required for national security positions).

Desired qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban), user stories, backlog management, and iterative delivery.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices: secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, configuration management.
• Experience leading discrete technical projects or workstreams while contributing hands-on (coding, integration, testing, deployment).
• Experience deploying or sustaining applications in cloud environments.
• Experience developing data pipelines, APIs, automation scripts, or AI/ML-enabled applications.
• Experience integrating software tools with operational systems and user workflows.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed customers or field users.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Location & work arrangements

• Location: Chantilly, VA.
• Telework is not available; candidates must be able to work at the specified location(s) and complete field deployments as required.

Salary

• GG-07: $81,901 - $106,474 per year
• GG-09: $94,909 - $123,388 per year
• GG-11: $105,262 - $136,848 per year

Compensation follows DCIPS pay guidelines and may include targeted local market supplements for eligible STEM positions. Hiring incentives may be offered at management discretion.
