Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Teacher Itinerant for Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) students for a 9-month W2 contract based in Lakeside, AZ. This on-site role supports K-12 students with visual impairments by creating and delivering specialized instruction, developing and maintaining IEPs, and collaborating with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Duration: 9 months (W2 Contract, no benefits)
- Location: Lakeside, AZ (onsite)
- Employment type: CONTRACTOR (W2)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality BVI instruction tailored to students' visual and learning needs.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and specialized instructional materials.
- Prepare, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Assess student abilities and monitor progress; complete required evaluations and documentation.
- Use current educational and diagnostic practices for sensory-impaired students.
- Support positive behavior and effective classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers.
- Travel to assigned schools and districts within the service area as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Confidential Client.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with coursework specific to sensory impairments.
- Valid State of Arizona teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement for Blind/Visually Impaired instruction.
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- For Teacher O&M roles: ACVREP certification may be required in lieu of ADE certification.
- Ability to pass FBI and State of Arizona background checks.
- Local Arizona residency required; willingness to travel to multiple school locations within assigned districts.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Arizona Academic Standards.
- Experience with lesson planning, IEP development, and student assessment.
- Understanding of educational practices for students with visual impairments.
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- State of Arizona Teaching Certificate (or other required certification).
- Any additional position-specific licenses or certifications (e.g., ACVREP for O&M).
