Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Packaging/Media Development Engineer to develop and optimize assembly media and collaterals that support semiconductor packaging reliability, manufacturability, yield and cost targets. This role is based in Phoenix, AZ and requires on-site presence.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and optimize packaging media and collateral solutions to meet quality, reliability, yield, cost and productivity goals.
- Design and implement new media and collateral using engineering best practices and statistical tools (Design of Experiments, SPC).
- Evaluate media and collaterals under simulated field and manufacturing conditions (heat, humidity, temperature cycling, dynamic forces).
- Lead root-cause analysis and mitigation plans for media/collateral quality and reliability issues.
- Provide technical consultation to manufacturing teams and align solutions with operational and technology milestones.
- Document technical improvements and present findings in internal reports and external-facing research/presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline plus a minimum of 6 months of hands-on engineering experience.
- Experience in equipment engineering, mechanical design, and/or process engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Portfolio or examples of projects completed end-to-end (concept through fabrication).
- Familiarity with semiconductor packaging processes and manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills; experience driving results on time-sensitive projects.
- Hands-on lab or prototype evaluation experience (environmental and mechanical testing).
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range (US): $85,200 – $120,280 USD. Actual pay will be determined by the candidate’s location, experience, and skills.
- Competitive benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and potential stock-based incentives as part of total compensation.
- This role requires on-site presence.
