What You’ll Do
As a Tax Staff professional supporting a Confidential Client in Scottsdale, AZ, you will work with clients across industries to prepare tax returns, perform research, and help maintain organized tax files. This role emphasizes technical development under experienced supervisors and strong client communication.
- Prepare individual tax returns (Form 1040) and less-complex business returns (e.g., 1120).
- Assemble complete, well-documented tax files with supporting schedules and workpapers.
- Apply tax law fundamentals and reference rulings, precedents, and authoritative guidance.
- Perform tax research and provide support to transaction review processes.
- Communicate clearly with managers, colleagues, and clients; recognize and escalate issues.
- Use tax and accounting software and comply with firm practice management procedures.
- Work on-site during the initial onboarding period and support hybrid work arrangements thereafter (see note below).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts.
- Coursework or practical experience preparing individual and/or basic business tax returns preferred.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak/busy season.
- Authorized to work in the United States.

Location & Schedule
This position is based in Scottsdale, AZ. Employees are required to work in-office for the first six months; a hybrid schedule is available after successful onboarding.
