Role Overview
The confidential client is hiring a Tax Staff to prepare individual and less-complex business tax returns, support tax research, and build strong client relationships. This is a full-time position based in Scottsdale, AZ. Employees must work onsite for the first six months; a hybrid schedule may apply afterward.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and apply tax knowledge to individual returns (1040) and less-complex business returns (1120).
- Assemble completed, well-documented tax files with appropriate supporting schedules and workpapers.
- Research and interpret tax authorities, rulings, and regulations as needed.
- Provide research support for transaction reviews and special projects.
- Communicate clearly with managers and clients; ask questions and escalate issues proactively.
- Follow firm practice management procedures, systems, and documentation standards.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and team members.
- Use tax and accounting software and standard office tools to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of GAAP and core accounting topics.
- Familiarity with tax preparation systems and standard office software.
- Ability to work extended hours during busy season when needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
