Overview
Confidential client is hiring an entry-level Tax Staff I to join their Private Client Services (PCS) team in Iselin, NJ. This hybrid, full-time role is ideal for recent accounting graduates or early-career public accounting professionals who want hands-on experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, and learning client-focused advisory work in a fast-growing accounting practice.
What You’ll Do
- Learn and assist with preparation of financial statements, compilations, and reviews.
- Support preparation of federal and state individual and business income tax returns.
- Work alongside PCS team members on client engagements for high-net-worth individuals, family-owned and closely-held businesses.
- Complete assigned work accurately and on schedule while following firm policies and engagement procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients; escalate issues when appropriate.
- Participate in training and development activities to build technical and soft skills.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
- 0–2 years of recent public accounting experience (entry-level candidates encouraged).
- Ability to work in a hybrid model with required in-office attendance; reliably commute to assigned office and client sites as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing the educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of assignment (may differ from CPA exam eligibility).
- Pursuing 150 academic credits or a master’s degree in accounting.
- Final graduation date between Dec 2026 and Sept 2027 preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 and a strong academic record.
- Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong time management, organizational, communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation
- Estimated annual pay: $60,084 (reported estimate). Exact compensation will be determined by the confidential client based on experience and location. Any posted salary is an estimate and subject to change.
