What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions that support tax innovation and automation initiatives for a Confidential Client.
  • Partner closely with tax subject-matter experts, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate tax requirements into reliable technical solutions.
  • Implement APIs, integrations, and data pipelines to move tax data between systems securely and efficiently.
  • Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
  • Contribute to architecture and design discussions focused on performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprints, standups, retrospectives) and help continuously improve delivery processes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support deployments, monitoring, and incident response activities.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Early-to-mid career software engineer comfortable working in a client-facing, fast-moving tax technology environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn domain-specific (tax) concepts quickly.
  • Experience delivering features end-to-end in a collaborative team setting.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience — or commensurate work experience.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience (or demonstrable equivalent).
  • Practical experience with modern software development practices (version control, unit/integration testing, CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with building and consuming APIs and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Strong coding ability in at least one mainstream language (for example: Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in tax, accounting, finance, or related regulated industries (helpful but not required).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or infrastructure-as-code.
  • Familiarity with data transformation, ETL patterns, or analytics pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and using modern tooling (CI/CD pipelines, observability/monitoring tools).
  • Prior experience working on automation, platform integrations, or productized internal tools.
