What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an experienced associate to support Tax Innovation through software engineering. You’ll contribute to designing, building, testing, and maintaining applications that enable tax process automation and improved service delivery. In this role you will work on client-facing projects, take ownership of assigned features, and apply modern engineering and AI tools to help tax teams deliver value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and deploy software that supports tax innovation initiatives.
• Work across the full software lifecycle — from requirements and design to implementation and deployment.
• Translate business needs into technical features that improve tax processes and automation.
• Use languages and frameworks such as C# (.NET), Java, Python, and React Native as appropriate.
• Analyze source data and program behavior to identify defects, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with teammates to refine requirements, perform code reviews, and resolve issues.
• Apply AI-fluent approaches and modern engineering tools to accelerate delivery and problem solving.
• Document technical decisions, tests, and runbooks to support maintenance and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of professional software development experience.
• Practical experience in at least one of: Python, Java, or C#/.NET.
• Familiarity with software development and debugging workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Differentiators

• Experience building or supporting tax technology or finance-related applications.
• Exposure to React Native or front-end frameworks for hybrid/mobile experiences.
• Experience applying AI/ML tools or prompt-engineering patterns to engineering work.
• Ability to gather facts from multiple sources, discern patterns, and recommend pragmatic fixes.
• Comfortable adapting quickly in client-facing, fast-paced teams.
• Demonstrated ownership, eagerness for feedback, and commercial awareness.

Logistics, Compensation & Travel

• Employment type: Full-time
• Travel: Up to 20%
• Salary range: $63,000 - $153,000 per year. Actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Additional benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, leave) will be provided by the hiring organization.
