What You’ll Do
As a Tax CPA Associate with our confidential client in Washington, DC, you will join a tax practice focused on delivering compliance, consulting, and planning services to a diverse client base. This is an entry-level role designed for candidates who are building technical tax skills and client-facing experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation and filing of corporate, partnership, and multistate tax returns to meet compliance deadlines
- Support development of tax strategies to optimize positions and minimize exposure
- Conduct tax research and analysis on domestic and international tax matters
- Participate in tax provision and financial reporting modeling
- Help develop tax structures and assist with international tax planning initiatives
- Use data analytics to improve tax compliance, reporting and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored tax consulting services
- Support regulatory compliance consulting and respond to jurisdictional tax obligations
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting completed or in final academic year
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Before starting full-time, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment
- Entry-level / client service associate — candidates should be finishing or have finished their educational requirements
Skills and attributes that set you apart:
- 3.5+ GPA preferred
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in tax consulting and planning
- Familiarity with data analytics or willingness to learn tax analytics tools
- Interest or experience in international tax and multistate compliance
- Strong teamwork, communication, and client service orientation
- Willingness to use emerging technologies (including AI tools) to enhance efficiency
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 - $142,000 (actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location; all hires eligible for a discretionary annual bonus)
