Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Tax CPA Associate to join their tax practice in Greensboro Ndc, NC. This role is designed for early-career candidates (final-year students or recent graduates) who are developing technical tax skills, building client-facing experience, and preparing to sit for the CPA exam in their intended state of employment.
What You’ll Do
You will support client engagements across compliance, planning and reporting while developing tax technical skills and professional judgment.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate and partnership tax returns to meet compliance deadlines
- Support development of tax strategies that optimize positions and minimize risk
- Conduct tax research and analysis on domestic and international tax matters
- Participate in multistate tax compliance and reporting activities
- Help prepare tax provisions and financial tax modeling for reporting purposes
- Contribute to international tax-planning initiatives and tax-structure analysis
- Use data analytics tools to streamline tax compliance and improve reporting accuracy
- Work with teammates to deliver tailored tax consulting for clients across industries
- Communicate findings and assist in client deliverables under supervision
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in final year of study in Accounting (or equivalent)
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment prior to starting full-time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and manage time on multiple tasks
Preferred / Differentiators
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Experience or coursework in multistate and international tax
- Familiarity with data analytics or tax technology tools
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and problem-solving orientation
- Experience leveraging AI or automation to increase efficiency (preferred)
- Internship or prior exposure to tax engagements
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 - $142,000 per year. Actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws.
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
