Role overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Tax CPA Associate to join their tax practice in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on learning and contributing to client engagements across corporate, partnership, multistate, and international tax matters. You'll develop technical tax knowledge, apply data analytics, and support teams that optimize tax positions and ensure compliance.
What you’ll do
- Assist in preparation and filing of corporate and partnership tax returns to meet compliance deadlines
- Support development of tax strategies that optimize tax positions and minimize risk
- Conduct tax research and analysis on domestic and international tax matters
- Participate in multistate tax compliance and reporting
- Help prepare tax provisions and financial reporting support models
- Use data analytics to streamline tax compliance and reporting processes
- Contribute to international tax planning initiatives and tax structure development
- Collaborate with engagement teams to deliver tailored tax consulting services to clients
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting completed or in final academic year
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
- Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment prior to starting full-time
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively on client teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred / differentiators
- 3.5+ overall GPA preferred
- Experience or interest in applying data analytics and AI to improve tax processes
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in tax consulting, planning, and international tax
- Prior internship or coursework in corporate tax, multistate tax, or tax research
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and asking thoughtful questions to support team outcomes
Compensation & benefits
- Salary range (posted): $53,500 - $142,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus where applicable.
- Typical benefits (may vary by Confidential Client): medical, dental, vision, 401(k) or retirement options, paid time off, holiday pay, and other standard employee benefits. Specific benefit details will be provided by the Confidential Client during hiring.
Location & eligibility
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (on-site / hybrid as determined by the Confidential Client).
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The Confidential Client will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment and immigration laws.
