This entry-level Tax Consultant — Technology role combines tax technical work with technology and data analytics to support client engagements. The Confidential Client is hiring candidates for Summer 2027 or Winter 2028 start dates. This role is based in Houston, TX and requires regular in-office co-location and client travel.
What you’ll do
- Research federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and guidance to support technical conclusions.
- Analyze client facts and business decisions to identify tax implications and present clear recommendations.
- Prepare workpapers, client deliverables, summaries, and documentation that support audit-ready conclusions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to resolve complex tax issues using data and technology solutions.
- Manage multiple assignments across clients, industries, and timelines, meeting quality and deadline expectations.

Minimum qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with expected graduation by Summer or Fall 2027, OR a completed bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related/equivalent program.
- Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA).
- Ability to reside within a commutable distance of the Houston office and co-locate on average 2–3 times per week as required by project/client needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% on average for client work.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment.

Preferred qualifications
- Master’s in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Internship or practical experience in tax, data analytics, or technology-focused projects.
