What You’ll Do

Managing taxes is a critical part of effective business strategy. As a Tax Consultant, you will support client engagements across a variety of industries and offerings. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Research tax laws, regulations, and guidance to support client work
  • Assist with analysis of tax issues, transactions, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare work products and written recommendations for client engagements
  • Collaborate with team members to address technical tax matters
  • Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines while maintaining quality
  • Communicate findings clearly to team members and clients

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university (expected graduation Summer or Fall 2028) OR completed bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation, or related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0
  • Must meet the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam or for CPA licensure in the state of your assigned office prior to full-time start (requirements vary by state)
  • Ability to commute to and co-locate with your assigned office as required (see Working Conditions)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% based on client needs
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high-quality work product
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Coursework in information systems, data analytics, or tax technology
  • Prior internship, summer role, or school job in accounting, tax, or finance
  • Familiarity with basic tax research tools and Microsoft Excel

Working Conditions & Logistics

  • Location: SoMa / San Francisco, CA (assigned office). You must reside within a commutable distance of the assigned office.
  • Co-location: Expect to co-locate on average 2–3 times per week; frequency may vary by project and client needs.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel, on average.
  • Start window: Summer 2028 or Winter 2029 (entry/start timing depends on hiring cohort).
  • Recruiting timeline: recruiting for this role concludes on 2026-07-31.
  • Immigration: Limited sponsorship may be available (case-by-case).
  • Employment type: Full-time, entry-level opportunity.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary range: $54,160 to $99,600 per year (range reflects factors such as experience, licensure, and location differentials). The disclosed range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on specific office location and candidate factors.
