What You’ll Do

Managing taxes is a critical part of an effective business strategy. As a Tax Consultant with our client’s Japanese Services Group, you will support clients in analyzing tax implications of business decisions, identifying opportunities to manage tax obligations, and addressing complex tax issues. This entry-level role provides exposure across clients, industries, and service lines while building technical knowledge and client-service experience.

  • Research tax laws, rules, and guidance to support client work
  • Assist with analysis of tax issues, transactions, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare work products and recommendations for client engagements
  • Collaborate with team members to address technical tax matters
  • Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and quality expectations

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university expected to graduate by Summer or Fall 2027 OR have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation, or a related/equivalent program
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required)
  • Must meet minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of your assigned office location prior to beginning full-time employment (requirements vary by state)
  • Reside within a commutable distance of the assigned office and be available to co-locate on average 2–3 times per week as required by project/client needs
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, depending on client and project needs
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Start date: Winter 2027

Preferred

  • Coursework in information systems, data analytics, or tax technology
  • Prior internship, summer position, or school job in accounting, tax, or finance

The Team

Confidential Client’s Tax practice combines technical tax knowledge, technology, data, and process capabilities to deliver practical insights and tailored solutions. Teams work collaboratively across service lines to help clients evaluate complex issues and improve how work gets done.


Location & Work Arrangements

  • Primary location: Manhattan, NY (you must be within commutable distance of the assigned office)
  • Typical on-site / co-locate expectation: approximately 2–3 days per week (varies by project)
  • Travel: up to 50% on average, depending on client and engagement needs

Compensation

  • Estimated wage range: $54,160 to $99,600 per year (range disclosed by the employer; final offer depends on skills, experience, licensure, and other business-related factors)
  • This posting complies with applicable pay transparency requirements for New York.
