What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Tax Associate to join their Tax practice in Kansas City, MO. In this role you will learn and contribute on client engagements that include tax compliance, research, and planning. You'll work with experienced teammates to develop technical tax knowledge, support financial reporting, and help deliver practical tax solutions for clients across industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and filing of corporate and partnership tax returns to meet compliance deadlines
• Support the development of tax strategies to optimize positions and minimize risk
• Conduct tax research and analysis on domestic and international tax issues
• Participate in multistate tax compliance and reporting activities
• Help prepare tax provisions and modeling to support financial reporting
• Use data analytics tools to improve tax compliance, reporting and process efficiency
• Support regulatory compliance and tax consulting engagements across industries
• Communicate with team members and clients; escalate issues and ask questions to drive learning

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
• Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment before starting full-time
• Entry-level candidates should have completed or be in final academic year of degree requirements

• 3.5+ overall GPA
• Experience or interest in leveraging AI and data analytics to increase efficiency
• Intellectual curiosity about tax consulting, international tax, and multistate issues
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and client service orientation
• Comfort with ambiguity and eagerness to learn on the job

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $53,500 - $142,000 per year (actual compensation dependent on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable law)
• Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus where applicable
