Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Tax Associate to join the Japanese Business Network within its Tax practice. This role supports Entrepreneurial & Private Business clients with corporate, partnership and multistate tax compliance, international tax planning, tax research, and analytics-driven recommendations. This is a full-time, Cincinnati, OH–based role with up to 20% travel.


What You’ll Do

  • Navigate global tax landscapes to help clients optimize tax strategies and manage risk
  • Support client engagements by preparing and filing corporate tax returns and multistate compliance documents
  • Conduct tax research, analysis, and documentation to deliver accurate advice
  • Assist with international tax planning, structuring, and compliance workstreams
  • Collaborate on drafting and reviewing tax deliverables to confirm regulatory compliance
  • Use data analytics to surface insights for tax policy, restructuring, and client decision-making
  • Engage in partnership tax and direct tax consulting for client-specific needs
  • Participate in tax provision preparation, modeling, and tax audit-related tasks
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to growth for entrepreneurial and privately owned businesses

Minimum qualifications (What You Must Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or currently pursuing in Accounting
  • Minimum overall GPA: 3.0
  • Business‑level fluency in Japanese and English (read, write, speak)
  • Before starting full-time, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment
  • Entry-level candidates: completed or in the final academic year of degree requirements

Preferred qualifications (What Sets You Apart)

  • Overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Experience or interest in applying AI and data analytics to tax workflows
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in tax research and international tax
  • Strong teamwork, client-service orientation, and comfort working in entrepreneurial environments

Travel & work location

  • Up to 20% travel
  • Work location: Cincinnati, OH (on-site or hybrid per client policy)

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range: $53,500 – $142,000 per year (actual pay will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location)
  • Annual discretionary bonus eligibility (per client policy)
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings (401k), paid time off, and other standard offerings (confirm specifics with the client)
