Job Overview
Confidential Client (Accounting & Finance) is hiring an entry-level Tax Analyst to join their finance/tax team in Camden, NJ. This role reports to the Tax Manager and supports federal, state, and local tax compliance activities—preparing tax returns, coordinating payments and estimated filings, maintaining compliance reporting, and supporting tax account reconciliations and research. This position is contract, full-time.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and file state sales & use tax returns and state income tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Prepare separate company proforma federal tax returns and supporting schedules.
- Assemble and maintain tax return workpapers to support income tax audits.
- Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts and support income tax provision workpapers.
- Assist with tax notices, audits, and compliance inquiries.
- Support special projects, process improvements, and other tax department initiatives as assigned.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Division Finance teams, and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of relevant tax experience, internships, or equivalent industry experience.
- Basic understanding of federal and state tax concepts (gained via education, internship, or work).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (reporting, data analysis, reconciliations).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target base salary range: $69,000–$94,800 (annual). Individual base pay depends on work location, experience, job-related skills, and education/training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with match, paid time off and holidays, and wellness programs—many benefits begin on day one. Actual benefits depend on employment status and work location.
