Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Security Engineer I to join a Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team focused on Anti‑Tamper (AT), Program Protection, and embedded systems security for defense-related products. This on-site role in Little Tucson, AZ contributes to holistic security solutions that protect critical program information and ensure compliance with DoD policies.


What You’ll Do

  • Support implementation of Systems Security Engineering (SSE) solutions to define requirements, technical approaches, trade studies, costs, and implementation strategies
  • Conduct attack threat modeling and Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments
  • Help ensure compliance with DoD technology release and export licensing policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, software, and supply‑chain teams to integrate security controls into embedded systems
  • Contribute to documentation, test plans, and security assessments for program protection

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field by start date
  • Coursework or experience in one or more of: systems security engineering, anti‑tamper, cybersecurity, embedded systems security, embedded hardware, embedded software, or real‑time embedded systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances; U.S. citizenship required
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field
  • Applied experience or coursework in systems engineering, software/firmware development, systems integration & test, ASIC development, or digital electronics design
  • Experience supporting DoD programs or familiarity with DoD directives (e.g., DODI‑S‑5230.28)
  • Prior internship, co‑op, or relevant project experience
  • Active DoD security clearance (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Location & Clearance

  • Location: Little Tucson, AZ (on-site)
  • Security: Active/transferable DoD Secret clearance required prior to start; U.S. citizenship required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (good-faith estimate): USD 57,200 — USD 108,800 per year
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, employee development programs, and eligibility for incentive compensation depending on business unit and role

Employment Type

  • Full time; Contract status may apply per business unit
