What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking Systems Engineers to support Uncrewed Systems (UxS) efforts focused on autonomous maritime vehicles. You'll join a multidisciplinary team responsible for system-level design, integration, verification and fielding of unmanned surface and underwater vehicles.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, and supportability analyses across the lifecycle (concept → design → fabrication → test → fielding → sustainment).
- Translate customer and mission needs into clear, testable system requirements and interface definitions.
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, and requirements allocation.
- Develop and maintain accurate systems documentation (requirements, design interfaces, V&V artifacts).
- Support integration and test activities in lab, industrial, or shipboard environments; assist with field operations as needed.
- Identify and mitigate technical, cost, and schedule risk; support verification and qualification of total-system solutions.

- Level 1 — Entry: B.S. in related field (0 years experience) OR High School Diploma + 4 years relevant experience.
- Level 2 — Early Career: B.S. + 2 years relevant experience OR M.S. (0 years experience) OR High School Diploma + 6 years relevant experience.
- Level 3 — Mid Career: B.S. + 5 years relevant experience OR M.S. + 3 years relevant experience OR PhD/JD (0 years experience) OR High School Diploma + 9 years relevant experience.
- Level 4 — Senior: B.S. + 9 years relevant experience OR M.S. + 7 years relevant experience OR PhD/JD + 4 years relevant experience OR High School Diploma + 13 years relevant experience.
Required:
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience (integration, verification, validation, requirements decomposition).
- Strong technical writing and attention to detail to produce accurate systems documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Preferred / bonus skills:
- Domain knowledge of robotics and autonomous vehicles, especially maritime UUVs/USVs.
- Experience with requirements management (JAMA or similar).
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design, simulation, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional engineering teams; strong problem-solving and multi-tasking ability.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office, industrial, or shipboard settings — candidates must tolerate confined spaces and temperature variances.
- May require climbing ladders and lifting/moving materials.
- Occasional travel (estimated 0–10%).
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated salary range (good-faith estimate): $65,203 – $160,000 per year. Final offer will consider role level, education, experience, and skills.
