What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Systems Engineer I to join a team supporting Navy sensor and combat system modeling, simulation, testing, and assessment in White Oak, MD. You will work in a software model-based environment focused on Anti‑Air Warfare (AAW) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems, performing systems engineering, data analysis, and model development.

  • Support simulation setup, execution, and result analysis; present findings to technical and operational audiences
  • Develop, enhance, and debug models of radar, communications, and weapons systems
  • Assist with data analysis of fielded hardware and software systems
  • Interact regularly with U.S. Government customers on technical and operational tasks
  • Prepare documentation and presentations for mixed audiences (technical, operational, managerial)
  • Execute assigned tasks both independently and as part of a team, collaborating closely with other radar, modeling & simulation, and systems engineers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical degree with strong foundations in physics and mathematics
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to perform both technical and operational tasks
  • Interest in Navy AEGIS combat systems and defense technology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in combat system design evaluation and testing
  • Willingness to learn technical details of radar systems
  • Experience or coursework in signal processing and/or track filtering
  • Programming skills in C++ or Java
  • Comfort working in Windows and Linux environments

Compensation & Benefits

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $83,000 – $108,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
