Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Systems Engineer I to join their Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities team in Tewksbury, MA. This onsite role focuses on planning and executing integration and verification test events for complex systems in the aerospace & defense space. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and either hold an active, transferable U.S. government security clearance or be able to obtain an interim clearance prior to start.
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client seeks a motivated early-career engineer to support system integration and verification test campaigns. Responsibilities include:
- Plan, set up, and execute system integration and verification tests in lab and field environments
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, etc.)
- Collect, process and analyze test data; support automation and instrumentation tasks
- Assist in developing and refining system requirements, interface control documentation, and test procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve integration anomalies and implement corrective actions
- Support documentation of test results, lessons learned, and configuration control
Location & Work Type
- Onsite — primary work location: Tewksbury, MA (work may also support nearby sites in the region as needed)
- This is a U.S.-based role; U.S. citizenship is required due to clearance eligibility
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical, Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or similar) completed by start date
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience from internships, coursework, research, or on-the-job training
- Familiarity with commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, etc.)
- Exposure to systems requirements, system integration, systems testing, or systems hardware/software
- Ability to obtain or possess a DoD Secret security clearance (active/transferable preferred)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong undergraduate-level understanding of electrical, mechanical and/or software system integration
- Familiarity with C/C++/C# and scripting (MATLAB, Python) for data collection, analysis, and automation
- Experience reading electrical schematics and interface documentation; knowledge of communications protocols
- Experience with military platforms or defense industry practices is a plus
- Prior work in integration labs, test facilities, or field test support
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good-faith estimate): $57,200 — $108,800 USD per year
- Benefits may include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, and eligibility for incentive programs depending on business unit and role
- Relocation eligibility may apply
