Role Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer I to join an onsite engineering team in Tewksbury, MA. This role supports systems integration, testing, verification, and modeling for tactical systems in an aerospace & defense environment. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and meet U.S. government clearance requirements described below.
What You’ll Do
- Support testing efforts by developing and executing test plans, procedures, integration activities, and verification documentation in simulated and physical test environments.
- Troubleshoot and analyze hardware, software, and system-level issues using detailed data analysis and debugging techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
- Use modeling and simulation tools to predict system behavior and support verification and validation.
- Integrate hardware and software components into tactical systems and evaluate end-to-end functionality.
- Produce and maintain integration documentation, test reports, and communicate technical results to stakeholders and leadership.
- Perform statistical and numerical analysis of radar and system performance data to verify requirements.
- Decompose and track requirements across system architectures.
- Travel as needed (up to 10%) to support mission execution at local facilities, test sites, vendor sites, or customer locations.
Minimum Qualifications (You Must Have)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM major completed by the start date.
- Demonstrated experience with systems software, systems hardware, requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test. Experience may be from on-the-job work, coursework, research, or projects.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain the required U.S. government security clearance before start (see Security & Eligibility below).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating technical documentation such as test plans, procedures, and technical reports.
- Experience in an integration lab, test facility, or field environment supporting requirements development, integration, or verification.
- Familiarity with digital engineering tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, or Cameo.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar programming languages.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $57,200 — $108,800 USD (good-faith estimate covering all experience levels; final offer factors include role responsibilities, experience, location, and skills).

- Relocation eligibility may apply for qualified candidates.
Security & Eligibility
- U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are eligible for the necessary security clearance.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance as indicated in the posting.
- Candidates may be required to attend select interview steps in person at client locations.
Additional Details
- Location: Onsite in Tewksbury, MA (may also include nearby client facilities as needed).
- Travel: Up to approximately 10% (local facilities, test sites, vendor/customer locations).
