Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer I to support integration and verification test activities for defense-focused systems. This onsite role is based in Tewksbury, MA (multiple nearby sites may be used for specific test events). The role emphasizes hands-on electronics troubleshooting, data collection/analysis, and test execution in a systems-integration environment.


What You’ll Do

Confidential Client’s Systems Engineering & Test team needs a motivated early-career engineer to plan and execute integration and verification test events. You will work closely with cross-discipline engineering teams to validate system hardware and software interfaces and to collect and analyze telemetry and test data.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Execute system integration and verification tests in lab and field environments
  • Troubleshoot electronic hardware using common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generators)
  • Capture and analyze telemetry and instrumentation data during live tests
  • Use scripting and tools (MATLAB, Python, or similar) to automate data collection and processing
  • Work from electrical schematics, interface documentation, and test procedures to integrate components and verify interfaces
  • Support development and validation of test fixtures, cabling, and instrumentation setups
  • Document test results and support technical reviews with clear data summaries

Qualifications

Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field completed by the start date
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics (academic labs, internships, projects)
  • Familiarity with commercial test equipment: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, etc.
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis/automation
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with coursework in RF electronics
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and interface control documentation
  • Experience integrating software routines with hardware (C/C++/C# are a plus)
  • Previous use of telemetry capture equipment and real-time monitoring systems
  • Experience automating large data-set collection and analysis via scripting

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD per year (good-faith estimate across experience levels)
  • Eligible benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability plans, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, and access to employee development programs. Specific benefits depend on hiring unit and location.
  • Relocation eligibility may apply for qualified candidates.

Workplace & Security Clearance

  • This is an onsite role (work will be performed primarily at the Tewksbury, MA location or nearby sites).
  • U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must hold an active and transferable U.S. government security clearance prior to start or be able to obtain an interim clearance as required. Security Clearance Type: DoD Secret (or ability to obtain interim clearance prior to start).
