What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to support the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS). You will join a team of systems engineers and government personnel to help define, analyze, and document system requirements, architectures, and change packages that drive capability improvements.
- Determine impacts to the weapon system, requirements, and design specifications during engineering development
- Review, analyze, and author requirements at multiple levels (SSS, SSDD, SRS, HRS)
- Develop Candidate Change Packages (CCPs) and capture design impacts in models and engineering documents
- Model and update system architectures using MBSE tools (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo)
- Support human factors engineering, prototyping, and HCI specification updates
- Create and resolve change requests (CRs) and track discrepancies between documentation and system behavior
- Provide engineering input in IPTs, ERBs, DRBs, CRBs, and Interface Working Groups
- Communicate technical summaries, provide briefs, and present engineering decisions in writing and verbally
- Attend weekly team meetings and collaborate across contractor and government teams
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Engineering experience (academic, internship, or professional), preferably with DoD programs or weapon systems
- Understanding of MBSE principles and experience applying MBSE methods to engineering tasks
- Experience using Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar systems-modeling tools
- Experience using Jira for change request and task tracking
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Word
- Detail-oriented, quick learner, and an effective communicator (written and verbal)
- Able to work productively on a diverse team of contractor and government personnel
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience supporting defense programs or naval systems
- Practical exposure to human factors or HCI specification development
- Familiarity with Engineering Review Board processes and integrated product teams
Location, Clearance & Travel
- Location: Hartwood, VA (onsite/collar area support)
- Must have U.S. citizenship (required to obtain clearance)
- An ACTIVE Secret clearance is required for this position; applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Travel: Expect travel to NSWC Dahlgren Division approximately once every 1–2 weeks
Compensation & Benefits
- Projected annual salary range: $60,000 - $100,000 (USD)
