Overview

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Systems Engineer I to join a Systems Integration & Test team supporting radar and airborne systems. This is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. The employee will integrate hardware and software, develop and execute test plans, debug system interfaces, and verify system requirements in a lab and field environment. Active DoD Secret security clearance is required and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

What You’ll Do

• Support planning and execution of integration, verification, and validation test activities in lab and occasionally in the field (test events may require travel up to ~10%).
• Develop and execute detailed test procedures; record and analyze test data.
• Troubleshoot failures and perform root-cause analyses using lab/field test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, telemetry collection, etc.).
• Handle system hardware modules and related support equipment.
• Use analysis tools (MATLAB, Python) to process and automate data collection and reporting.
• Interpret and maintain design specifications and drawings (schematics & assembly drawings).
• Prepare and present test results and technical briefings to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain engineering databases and support Integrated Product Team leads with periodic tasks and meetings.
• Support product sustainment, repair-design activities, and transitions from production to sustainment.

What You’ll Learn

• Hands-on systems integration & test across the product lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of radar modes, hardware/software interfaces, and flight-test support.
• Exposure to digital transformation methods such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.
• Practical experience with test instrumentation, telemetry, and large-data collection workflows.

Minimum Qualifications (You Must Have)

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) completed by the start date.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronics in academic, internship, or project settings and using common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• Experience using Microsoft Office plus analysis/automation tools such as MATLAB and Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Active and existing DoD Secret clearance required after day 1.

Preferred Qualifications

• Major in Electrical Engineering with coursework in RF electronics.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
• Familiarity integrating software routines with hardware (C/C++/C# preferred).
• Experience with telemetry/real-time data capture and instrumentation.
• Experience applying scripting or automation to collect and analyze large datasets.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD per year (good-faith estimate representing all experience levels).
• Relocation eligible.

Work Location & Travel

• This position is primarily onsite in El Segundo, CA. Occasional travel for test events is expected but not to exceed approximately 10%.
