What You’ll Do

• Work on a team of systems and software engineers to design, develop, and test features for flight management systems integrated into military helicopters and fixed‑wing platforms.
• Contribute to system and software integration activities, verification, and validation for avionics features.
• Apply strong communication and coordination skills to deliver high‑quality work on schedule.
• Travel domestically or internationally as needed (typically < 10%).

What You’ll Learn

• Practical, hands‑on experience in systems engineering for flight management and avionics.
• Exposure to software development lifecycle, requirements drafting, and DO‑178 style processes used in aerospace systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree (or pending completion by start date) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Ada, and/or Python.
• Eligible to be employed as a U.S. Person (see notes below).

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience drafting system and/or software requirements.
• Pilot or avionics background (e.g., Private Pilot, aircraft maintenance) or familiarity with DO‑178 processes.

Compensation & Logistics

• Salary range: $57,200 – $108,800 USD (good‑faith estimate covering all experience levels).
• Role type: Onsite — employees will primarily work at the assigned site in Cedar Rapids, IA. Commuting responsibility resides with the employee.
• Relocation eligibility may be available for qualified candidates.
