Overview

This is an onsite, entry-level Systems Engineer I role supporting a confidential client in the aerospace and defense industry. The position focuses on systems integration, test, and evaluation for RF/electronic warfare products. Travel for test events may be required (up to ~20%). U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires obtaining and maintaining a U.S. government security clearance.

What You’ll Do

As a Systems Engineer I you will support integration and test activities across the product lifecycle. Typical responsibilities include:

• Assist in the development and modification of electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
• Support the creation and execution of test plans, simulations, and lab/field tests to verify system capabilities.
• Evaluate functional performance of RF systems, signal-processing subsystems, and firmware/control algorithms.
• Perform integration, verification, and troubleshooting in lab and field environments using test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• Use MATLAB, Python, and other tools to collect, analyze, and present test data.
• Maintain engineering specifications, drawings, and reports; compile findings for briefings and customer deliverables.
• Collaborate with Engineering IPT Leads and cross-functional teams to implement process requirements and resolve technical issues.

• Hands-on systems engineering, integration, and test techniques for RF and electronic warfare products.
• Practical use of MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering), Agile development methods, and digital transformation tools.
• Instrumentation, test automation, and performance evaluation workflows used in aerospace/defense test labs and field test events.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another STEM field.
• Experience with engineering tools such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis and automation.
• Practical experience troubleshooting electronics (academic labs, internships, projects) and using common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• U.S. citizenship is required (position requires ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance).
• Active DoD Secret clearance required after day 1 (per source).

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge of RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform/modulation analysis, and algorithm implementation/testing.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
• Background integrating software/firmware with electronic hardware; familiarity with C/C++/C# is a plus.
• Prior exposure to systems integration & test in aerospace, defense, or related industries.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range (good-faith estimate): $57,200 — $108,800 USD per year.
• Relocation eligible.
• Eligible hires may receive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, and potential incentive compensation depending on business unit and role.
