Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to join a SIGINT processing systems program supporting an Intelligence Community customer. This is an onsite role at Fort George G. Meade (Savage, MD). The position is a full-time, permanent opportunity that moves an experienced system administrator toward systems engineering on a mission-focused software team.

What You’ll Do

You will transition from system administration into systems engineering responsibilities supporting SIGINT software and sensor systems. Day-to-day work includes installs, configuration, integration, patching, automation, and supporting security architecture changes. You’ll help keep sensor systems optimized and reliable, and contribute to systems engineering documentation (requirements, Interface Control Documents). This role supports cross-discipline coordination across design, test, and program reviews.

• Provide maintenance and operational support to a SIGINT software team
• Perform installs, configuration, integration, and patching on Linux systems
• Implement security architecture updates and hardening as required
• Optimize and maintain sensor systems and mission microservices
• Contribute to systems engineering artifacts: requirement specifications, Interface Control Documents, and review packages
• Track and coordinate resolution of cross-discipline action items
• Automate routine tasks using shell/Bash scripting

Minimum Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or Engineering Management OR five (5) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• System administration or systems engineering experience in Linux environments
• Experience with installs, configuration, integration, and patch management
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix command line and shell/Bash scripting
• Clear written communication for producing requirements, interface, and review documentation
• Ability to work onsite at Fort George G. Meade, MD

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with containerized software
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Prior experience supporting SIGINT or other Intelligence Community mission systems

Compensation & Location

• Listed base salary: $125,000 per year (as provided in source)
• Employment type: Full time, Permanent
• Work location: Onsite at Fort George G. Meade (Savage, MD)
• Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph required
