Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to join a cross-functional team working on surface and unmanned vessel systems. This role focuses on requirements development, systems design, integration & testing, and data analysis to support naval platform capabilities. The position is based in Pittsfield, MA and is open to candidates who meet U.S. citizenship and clearance eligibility requirements.


What You’ll Do

As an entry-level Systems Engineer you will:

  • Perform customer requirements analysis and develop system-level requirements and allocations
  • Support system architecture and software architecture artifact development to communicate designs to stakeholders
  • Design, integrate, test, deploy, and improve software and systems products
  • Conduct functional and performance analysis, trade studies, and interface definition
  • Perform systems integration and verification including simulation and live testing
  • Collect, reduce, and analyze complex data to provide actionable recommendations
  • Develop and implement data collection and quality strategies
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation for continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer needs into verifiable system requirements and allocate those to subsystems and components
  • Generate technical engineering products using established standards, processes, and tools across the systems development lifecycle
  • Support integration and testing of combat systems work products
  • Create and maintain documentation, interface control documents, and test artifacts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, test, and operations)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability (academic, internship, or project) in systems analysis, requirements, or integration work
  • U.S. citizenship (required)
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance within a reasonable time after hire

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience or coursework in requirements development and allocation
  • Hands-on exposure to systems integration and test (SIT/IV&V) or software testing
  • Data analysis experience (statistical methods, data reduction, visualization)
  • Familiarity with software architecture artifacts and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Interest or experience applying AI/ML techniques to engineering problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work on multidisciplinary teams

Compensation & Schedule

  • Target salary range: USD $77,843 – $86,358 per year (actual pay may vary based on experience and factors)
  • Full-time; 9/80 flexible schedule option (every other Friday off) available in many cases

Security & Eligibility
