Systems Engineer - Entry Level
The entry-level Systems Engineer at Confidential Client will join the Strategic Weapons Control team to develop and maintain specialized systems, applying systems engineering principles and practices. This role requires collaboration within cross-functional teams, leveraging skills in Linux, virtual machines, and testing processes, while supporting national security missions in a secure, on-site environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Systems Engineer on the Strategic Weapons Control team you will contribute to the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of specialized systems used in mission-critical environments. You will work on cross-functional teams to translate requirements into testable system designs, support verification activities, and help maintain secure, dependable computing environments.
- Support system design, integration, verification, and sustainment activities
- Develop and maintain test documentation, execute tests, and report results
- Work with Linux hosts and virtual machine environments to deploy and validate systems
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineering teammates to resolve technical issues
- Contribute to process improvements and apply automation/AI where appropriate to increase efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Eligible for a Department of Defense Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Comfortable working full-time on-site
Preferred (will make you more competitive):
- Practical experience with Linux and virtual machine technologies
- Familiarity with systems engineering practices and INCOSE principles
- Degree or coursework in Computer Engineering, Software Development, or Hardware/Software Integration
- Experience creating test plans, executing tests, and documenting results
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Hands-on Linux administration and VM setup/troubleshooting
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts, standards, and lifecycle processes
- Ability to read and create technical documentation, test procedures, and reports
- Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary engineering teams
- Interest in applying AI/automation for continuous improvement

Workplace & Clearance
This role is fully on-site and requires U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the work. Candidates will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation; a Department of Defense Secret clearance must be obtainable within a reasonable period after hire.
Salary
Combined Salary Range: USD $77,843.00 - USD $86,358.00 / Yr.
This range reflects typical pay for this role based on experience and location. Actual pay will be determined by the confidential client and may vary.
