What You'll Do

You will create, maintain, and manage clear, testable system and software requirements that guide development and verification of control and software features for heavy equipment and industrial machines. Working with cross-functional teams (design, software, systems, and test), you will translate informal feature descriptions and UI/UX inputs into formal System/Software Requirement Documents, maintain traceability, and help drive requirements into Azure DevOps for Agile delivery.


Responsibilities

  • Create concise, well-structured system and software requirements that define functionality, performance criteria, and design constraints.
  • Translate UI/UX specs and informal feature descriptions into formal requirements.
  • Analyze, prioritize, and validate requirements to ensure they are complete, testable, and aligned with customer needs and industry standards.
  • Mentor and provide feedback during the creation of test plans and test procedures.
  • Work with adjacent systems teams to align interfaces between systems and machines.
  • Translate implemented software and legacy documentation into updated System/Software Requirement Documents.
  • Migrate and consolidate existing requirements into new documentation toolsets used across product lines.
  • Manage work artifacts (features, stories, bugs) and track development workflow in Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment while keeping documentation accurate and traceable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery processes.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements authoring best practices, including writing testable, traceable requirements.
  • Proficiency with standard documentation tools (primarily Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate interfaces, architectures, feature intent, and timelines to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred / Nice-to-haves

  • Experience authoring requirements with Vector PreeVision.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for Agile planning and artifact management.
  • Prior experience with software or systems development for construction, agricultural, mining, or industrial machinery.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $70,000–$110,000 per year (commensurate with experience).

Their engineering work spans concept development, design, simulation, optimization, documentation, and testing across a range of agricultural, construction, mining, and industrial platforms. The role operates onsite at the customer's engineering and manufacturing facility in the region.
