What You’ll Do
This entry-level Systems and Database Analyst will support mission teams by turning business needs into clear reporting, process improvements, and actionable tasks. Day-to-day work includes report building, data quality checks, system configuration support, and cross-team collaboration.
- Support mission teams by gathering business requirements and translating them into actionable steps, reports, dashboards, and process improvements
- Create, update, and maintain reports, dashboards, trackers, and recurring analyses that support operational decision-making
- Maintain working expertise in organizational systems and databases; assist with day-to-day administration, configuration, and data integrity efforts
- Partner with school-based staff and engineering-focused teams to understand workflows, identify pain points, and support reporting and operational needs
- Break down complex business or data problems into step-by-step tasks for technical and non-technical teams
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders about requirements, reporting logic, and proposed solutions
- Review data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy; identify and help resolve data quality issues
- Assist with data modeling activities to improve reporting structure, usability, and scalability
- Support ad hoc analysis and recurring reporting for school operations, compliance, leadership, and mission teams
- Document processes, business rules, report definitions, and system workflows to improve continuity
- Assist with testing system changes and validating report outputs to confirm business requirements are met
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in operational data and present findings clearly and practically
- Support process-improvement efforts by organizing information and clarifying next steps
- Maintain flexibility to support a broad range of analyst responsibilities across platforms
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (analytics, business, information systems, education technology, computer/information science, or related) OR equivalent work experience
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, reporting, business operations, systems support, or a related role (entry-level)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to break complex issues into clear, manageable steps
- Experience or familiarity with Power BI, Google Sheets, Excel, or similar reporting tools
- Foundational understanding of data modeling concepts and how data structures support reporting
- Ability to learn new systems quickly (experience or willingness to learn platforms such as Synergy and Synergy Analytics)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and follow-through
- Ability to gather requirements, document processes, and support process improvements
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in English (read and speak)
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Hands-on experience building Power BI reports or dashboards
- Familiarity with SQL or basic data querying (if available)
- Prior exposure to K–12 or nonprofit operational systems
- Experience writing clear process documentation and report definitions
Compensation & Location
- Estimated pay: $75,327 per year (estimated by source)
- Location: Tempe, AZ (on-site or as required by the client)
