Systems/Data Analyst
The Systems/Data Analyst at Confidential Client is responsible for analyzing legacy systems, business processes, and data flows to support system integration, migration, and modernization initiatives. This role involves collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, document current state functionality, and evaluate target state solutions within a hybrid work environment in Smithfield, RI.

What You'll Do
You will work with business and technology stakeholders to analyze legacy applications, document current-state flows, and support migration and modernization recommendations. This role focuses on system analysis, data mapping, and integration assessment to enable platform transformation initiatives.
- Analyze legacy systems, data flows, integrations and downstream application dependencies.
- Document current-state functionality: process flows, data models, use cases and system diagrams.
- Gather requirements and run discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Produce functional and technical specifications, gap analyses, and impact assessments.
- Assess APIs, batch processes, and integration patterns to identify migration and modernization risks.
- Build data mappings and support data analysis activities (Sybase/SQL-based).
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on target-state solutions and migration approaches.
- Support user acceptance testing and validate that implemented solutions meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience analyzing legacy application architectures, system design, and integration patterns.
- Strong hands-on experience with Sybase and SQL for query, analysis and data mapping.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with documenting process models, gap analyses, and impact/feasibility studies.
- Excellent communication skills and experience engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to microservices, API-based architectures, and event-driven patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and application modernization initiatives.
- Experience supporting platform migrations, legacy transformation, or modern integration designs.
- Background in workflow automation, batch processing strategies, and migration planning.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range for this New York, NY role: $62,000 - $72,000 per year.
- Benefits typically include paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement savings plans (401(k)), life and disability insurance, employee assistance programs, and other local offerings. Specific benefits and eligibility are determined by the hiring organization’s policies.
- Final pay will be based on factors permitted by law such as experience, location, and qualifications.

- Location: New York, NY (work model to be confirmed with the recruiter — the position may be hybrid with on-site collaboration expected).
