What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is hiring an early-career Systems Administrator I to support enterprise infrastructure and operations. You will work under senior staff to maintain, monitor, and support servers, identity services, messaging/collaboration platforms, virtualization, storage, and backup systems.

  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Perform routine system health checks, patching, and updates under supervision
  • Monitor system alerts, troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary
  • Support backup operations and verify successful job completion
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding access and basic DNS administration
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365; support email flow and Mimecast integration
  • Support VMware virtualization environments and basic storage monitoring
  • Follow security procedures, apply patches, and support vulnerability remediation
  • Update runbooks and system documentation; follow change management processes
  • Collaborate with Service Desk, Network, Security, Database, and Application teams
  • Support assigned project tasks and occasional after-hours maintenance

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of general IT experience (service desk, desktop support, or entry-level infrastructure)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Understanding of Active Directory and identity management concepts
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Exchange / Office 365
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems and support processes
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash)
  • Exposure to VMware or other virtualization platforms
  • Basic understanding of enterprise storage and backup tools (e.g., Rubrik)
  • Familiarity with email security platforms (e.g., Mimecast)
  • Entry‑level certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar)

Work Location & Schedule

This is a hybrid role based on Return-to-Office (RTO) policies (typically three days per week in the office; subject to change). The role requires being physically present at the designated office during normal business hours and may include occasional after-hours or on-call responsibilities.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $75,000–$85,000 per year (actual pay will be based on experience, education, and location)
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer match (subject to Confidential Client policy)
  • Paid time off and paid company holidays per Confidential Client policy

Career Growth

This is a developmental position intended to prepare you for System Administrator II and other specialized infrastructure roles through on-the-job training, mentorship from senior team members, and exposure to enterprise operations and security practices.
