Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Systems Administrator (Systems Administrator I) to support the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Global Service Desk (GSD). This frontline IT support role provides account management, workstation imaging and deployment, ticket triage, and first-line troubleshooting across multiple secure network environments. This position requires a current Secret security clearance and may include shift work, on-call rotations, and operational event support.


What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and manage ticket queues (Jira or equivalent ITSM) to ensure timely response and resolution.
  • Troubleshoot user issues related to access, Windows OS, software, hardware, and connectivity.
  • Process account lifecycle requests (create, modify, deprovision) following security policies.
  • Perform workstation imaging, setup, and deployment for onboarding and readiness.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and procedures in knowledge base systems (e.g., Confluence).
  • Support patching, software installation, and system updates as directed.
  • Escalate complex incidents to Tier 2/3 and follow through to closure.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams on cross-functional issues.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for account management and system activities.
  • Provide technical support during operational events and high-tempo activities.
  • Participate in 24/7 operational coverage, including shift work and on-call rotations as required.
  • Communicate status and resolutions clearly to users and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (0 years experience accepted); OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and standard operating instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days if not already held.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a service desk or enterprise IT support environment.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar ITSM tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and account management processes.
  • Experience supporting users in DoD or other secure network environments.
  • Familiarity with system imaging and workstation deployment tools.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices or compliance frameworks (e.g., STIGs).
  • Experience using knowledge base tools such as Confluence.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.

Physical Requirements

  • Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity needed to perform typical Systems Administrator tasks, including workstation setup and hardware handling.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated salary range (good-faith estimate): $53,144 — $75,000 per year.
