What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level System Engineer to join an Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V) team supporting a missile seeker development program. In this role you will:
- Develop and execute system-level and qualification test plans and procedures for lab integration and formal requirements verification.
- Plan, coordinate, and operate test events — including arranging facilities, instrumentation, and test equipment.
- Collect, analyze, and report test data; produce clear test reports that map results to requirements.
- Support environmental qualification testing by drafting and following test procedures and ensuring proper test setups.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams (hardware, firmware, optics, software) to identify and troubleshoot system issues.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, test artifacts, and version-controlled repositories.
- Use scripting or programming (MATLAB, Python, or similar) to automate data processing and analysis tasks.
- Follow configuration and requirements management practices (e.g., DOORS or similar tools) and participate in design and test reviews.
Required Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- No prior professional experience required; relevant internships or academic projects are acceptable.
- Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle and IV&V concepts (may be coursework/project-based).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (must meet eligibility requirements).
- Basic programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or equivalent) and experience with data analysis techniques.
- Understanding of standard test methodologies, instrumentation, and lab practices.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear test plans and reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of EO/IR principles and related hardware.
- Familiarity with missile defense concepts or guidance/navigation/control (GNC) systems.
- Experience with DOORS or similar requirements-management tools.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB and signal-processing fundamentals.
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
- Active security clearance is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
- Full-Time Salary Range: $79,365 - $134,921 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; final offer will consider experience, skills, and local market).
