Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Surveyor to join field teams supporting utility and power delivery projects across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This role is an excellent fit for recent graduates or early-career candidates who want hands-on surveying experience (boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking) and professional growth in a safety-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

You will work under the direction of experienced surveyors and field crews to collect, process, and document survey data for construction and utility projects.

• Assist with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking
• Support field crews with data collection, measurements, and equipment setup
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment per safety guidelines
• Perform basic research of survey data, legal descriptions, and land records under supervision
• Prepare survey maps, plats, and field notes using AutoCAD and related software
• Follow project requirements, safety procedures, and quality standards
• Communicate progress and issues with project leads to help meet timelines and deliverables

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field (or currently pursuing)
• 0–2 years of surveying experience (internships, co-ops, or coursework welcome)
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and common surveying equipment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical surveying practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and travel to job sites across PA and NJ as needed
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required by project)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Prior internship or co-op experience in land surveying or construction staking
• Coursework or experience with GPS, total stations, and field data collectors
• Familiarity with ALTA/NSPS standards and plat preparation

Compensation & Location

• Location: Blue Bell, PA (work includes field assignments across PA and NJ)
• Estimated pay: $78,008 per year (estimated; actual pay may vary by experience and location)
• Employment type: Full-time
• This position requires fieldwork and occasional travel to job sites. Confidential Client provides training, on-the-job coaching, and a safety-first culture.
