Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Supply Chain Optimization Analyst to support an Integrated Business Planning team focused on structural panels (plywood and OSB). This operational, entry-level role owns the weekly network linear programming (LP) modeling cycle — preparing inputs, running models, diagnosing issues, and delivering outputs and reports that planners use to make decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute the weekly network LP modeling cycle and deliver reliable results on a consistent schedule.
  • Prepare and assemble model input datasets from planning and operational sources.
  • Review model inputs and outputs for reasonableness and raise potential data issues with owners.
  • Run optimization models and diagnose infeasibilities; work with planners to identify and resolve root causes.
  • Produce standardized reporting so supply and demand planners can act on model outputs.
  • Tune model parameters and constraints to reflect current business conditions.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to reduce manual steps and improve turnaround and reliability.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong data-analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar).
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and a high attention to detail.
  • Able to troubleshoot results in a structured way when outputs don’t look right.
  • Reliable at meeting recurring deadlines and communicating clearly with planners and business leaders.
  • Curious about how business and supply networks operate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Internship or co-op experience in supply chain, planning, analytics, or similar.
  • Coursework or exposure to linear programming or optimization concepts.
  • Basic Python knowledge, especially pandas.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
  • Familiarity using AI tools to accelerate analysis.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain operations.

The Team & Work Context

Confidential Client’s building products or manufacturing supply chain teams use LP-based network optimization as a core planning tool. This role partners closely with supply planners, demand planners, and production planning leadership. The position offers exposure to senior business leaders and a strong foundation for growth in supply chain analytics and optimization.
