What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring substitute instructors to deliver vocational and life-skills training to adult learners (18+) enrolled in post‑secondary certificate programs. This is an on‑call / per‑diem teaching role. Typical duties include:

  • Teach curriculum areas such as animal care, entry‑level culinary arts, healthcare operations, hospitality, and material handling
  • Deliver occasional modules on financial literacy, social skills, and daily life skills
  • Translate classroom theory into practical skills at externship and community sites
  • Supervise and coach students during externships and community placements
  • Maintain classroom management and document student progress
  • Travel locally to partner sites (including animal shelters) as required

Who You Are (Qualifications)

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must meet Florida state (FLDOE/CIE) instructor requirements for this role
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience demonstrating teaching, training, or classroom management skills
  • Comfortable handling and working directly with cats and dogs; willing to travel regularly to local animal shelters
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; patient and adaptable when working with adults with disabilities

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (Special Education, Vocational Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related)
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Relevant credentials or certifications in special education, vocational instruction, or related fields

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate: $19.00 per hour – per diem (as needed; no guarantee of set hours)
  • Employment type: Full‑time (per source) — role is scheduled on a per‑diem / on‑call basis (hours not guaranteed)
