What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is hiring a Substance Use Counselor to provide direct care and therapeutic support for adults in a residential treatment setting. Typical responsibilities include:

• Conduct and co-facilitate group, family and individual therapy sessions under supervision
• Complete initial and follow-up assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Assist in developing and updating individualized treatment plans
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed
• Coordinate care and act as a liaison with referral sources, insurance carriers, and other programs
• Support discharge planning and aftercare arrangements
• Provide case management duties to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Maintain professional, empathetic communication with patients, families and the care team
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and facility operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in social services, behavioral health, psychology or related field preferred
• Experience through counseling fieldwork, practicum, or internship required
• Licensure or certification as required by Pennsylvania (or state-specific license/eligibility within the timeframe set by the facility)
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided by the facility upon hire)
• First aid certification may be required based on facility/state rules
• Strong documentation, communication and group facilitation skills

• Experience in substance use disorder treatment or residential behavioral health
• Ability to manage caseloads, coordinate referrals, and support aftercare planning

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay: $19.00 – $28.00 / hour
• $2,500 sign-on bonus available for eligible full-time hires
• On-site training for required certifications (CPR, de-escalation/restraint)
