What You’ll Do
This entry-level Mechanical Associate role supports fleet power plant engineering issues for a confidential client. You will join a technical fleet support team focused on steam and reactor plant systems used aboard naval vessels. Day-to-day work emphasizes troubleshooting, technical evaluation, clear written recommendations, and cross-team coordination to drive safe, reliable system performance.
- Drive innovation initiatives to improve steam, reactor plant, and structural solutions that enhance performance, operation, or maintenance
- Troubleshoot and provide technical resolution for operating fleet and shipyard issues
- Support system and equipment changes, including shipboard procedures, manuals, installation, and operation guidance
- Prioritize and manage technical tasks to meet schedule and budget goals
- Prepare formal written technical recommendations, reports, and reviews
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate technical deliverables
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical, nuclear, or a related technical or science field — or a Master’s in a related field
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical issues clearly in writing and verbally
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn on the job
Preferred:
- Practical, hands-on experience with fluid and/or mechanical systems
- Experience producing technical evaluations and reports
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to drive complex problems to resolution
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $63,900 - $97,800 annually (range provided is a guideline; final offer depends on experience and qualifications)
