What You’ll Do

This entry-level role places you on a mission-focused engineering team supporting naval nuclear propulsion control systems. You will:

  • Support design, development, test, and sustainment of embedded instrumentation & control (I&C) systems for submarine propulsion plants.
  • Build practical systems engineering and troubleshooting skills using your electrical or computer engineering foundation.
  • Develop deep understanding of instrumentation, control logic, sensors, and actuator interfaces that ensure safe, reliable plant operation.
  • Execute laboratory and field testing; analyze results and implement corrective actions.
  • Interact with fleet operators and technical stakeholders to assess emergent issues and provide rapid technical support.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware, firmware, and software components.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical or science discipline — or a Master’s in a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship (required).
  • Ability to successfully complete a Federal background investigation and meet eligibility for access to classified matter.
  • Ability to pass employer-required drug testing (company policy complies with federal rules).
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Strong academic performance (GPA ≥ 3.0 preferred).
  • Academic project, internship, or co-op experience in embedded systems, hardware, firmware, or software development.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts, instrumentation, and control-system testing.
  • Practical troubleshooting experience and a willingness to support field operations.

  • Base salary: $63,900 - $97,800 per year (range provided by the client; actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications).
