Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Project Engineer to join their engineering team in San Diego, CA. This hands-on role focuses on precast concrete building systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities. You will work closely with experienced structural engineers, project engineers, manufacturing, and field teams — gaining technical experience, mentorship, and support toward PE/SE licensure.


What You’ll Do

As a Structural Project Engineer (Entry-Level) you will:

  • Assist in the structural design of precast concrete building systems (beams, columns, walls, floors, stairs).
  • Perform structural calculations and engineering analysis under senior guidance.
  • Develop engineering details, calculations, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate design activities with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Manufacturing, and Field Operations.
  • Participate in design meetings and help resolve constructability and site issues.
  • Learn and apply industry structural analysis software and engineering tools.
  • Visit manufacturing facilities and job sites to understand fabrication and installation.
  • Support multiple projects while building technical and project-management skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain it shortly after hire.
  • 0–3 years of structural engineering experience (internships/co-ops accepted).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn, initiative, and a long-term interest in structural engineering.

Employment details:

  • Location: San Diego, CA (on-site/project visits expected)
  • Employment type: Full time / Contractor
  • Competitive pay: $85,000–$100,000 annually (depending on experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred, but not required:

  • Coursework in reinforced concrete, steel design, structural analysis, or seismic design.
  • Experience with ETABS, RAM, RISA, SAP2000, or similar analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
  • Interest or coursework in precast concrete design and construction.
