What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Engineering New Graduate in Fairfax, VA. This in-office, full-time role offers hands-on structural design, analysis, and project execution experience with structured mentorship and training from day one. You will support development of structural systems and project documents while collaborating with senior engineers, multidisciplinary teams, and clients.
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
- Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and construction documents using industry-standard engineering software
- Support project planning, scheduling, and quality-control processes to help teams meet budgets and deadlines
- Participate in construction administration tasks including reviewing submittals and performing job site observations
- Communicate technical information clearly to clients and project teams; help document design decisions and client instructions
- Analyze low-to-medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate on practical solutions with senior engineers
- Contribute to research, innovation, and sustainable design initiatives (including SE2050 objectives)
- Prioritize safety, ethical practice, and integrated project delivery across the full project lifecycle
What You’ll Bring (Required)
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Master’s Degree (MS) required
- Working knowledge of structural design standards and principles for buildings and structures
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software and basic BIM usage
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in team-based project environments
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges; attention to detail
Preferred
- MS in Structural Engineering preferred
- Prior internship experience in building design consulting preferred
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) credential preferred

Compensation (Fairfax, VA)
State of Virginia Pay Range: $74,000–$79,000 base salary. Individual pay will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, and job-related factors. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, stock ownership options, and additional benefits.
