What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Structural Engineering role based in Los Angeles, CA for a confidential client. You will join a project team and support the full project life cycle from analysis and design through production of construction documents and site observations.

• Assist in analyzing and designing structural systems using steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and other common building materials.
• Use structural analysis and design software to develop calculations, specifications, and drawings that meet building codes and project standards.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and budget tracking to help meet deadlines and client expectations.
• Document design decisions, client communications, and progress; coordinate with senior engineers and other disciplines.
• Participate in quality control reviews to ensure deliverables meet firm and industry standards.
• Conduct construction submittal reviews and perform occasional job-site observations.
• Maintain a safety-first mindset and contribute to ethical, professional engineering practice.
• Stay current with industry trends, BIM workflows, and sustainable design initiatives (e.g., SE2050).

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Understanding of structural mechanics and common design standards for buildings.
• Familiarity with structural analysis and design software and basic BIM tools.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to travel up to 5% (occasional overnight stays).
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship (sponsorship not available).

Preferred

• Master’s degree (MS) in Structural Engineering.
• Internship experience in building design/consulting.
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification.

• Work with a Los Angeles-based structural team focused on education and healthcare projects, including K–12 school modernization, hospital upgrades, seismic work, and civic facilities.
• Typical assignments include design for commercial and institutional markets with a focus on practical, code-compliant solutions.
• You will be paired with an assigned mentor and receive structured training to develop consulting and technical skills.
