Confidential Client is hiring a Structural Engineering New Grad in Houston, TX. This is an entry-level, in-office position focused on hands-on structural design, analysis, and construction support. You’ll join multidisciplinary project teams, receive mentoring and structured training, and contribute to commercial and institutional projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with design and analysis of structural systems using appropriate materials and engineering software to produce calculations, specifications, and drawings that meet code and firm standards.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and working within budget constraints.
- Collaborate with project teams—including architects, engineers, and project managers—to deliver coordinated solutions across the full project lifecycle.
- Prepare and document design decisions, maintain design drawings and specifications, and track project progress.
- Review construction submittals and participate in job-site observations and construction administration tasks.
- Communicate professionally with clients to gather requirements and share technical information.
- Apply quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet firm and industry standards.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging tools, and sustainable design goals.
- Prioritize safety, ethical practice, and effective team collaboration on every project.
What You’ll Bring
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent) — required
Experience
- Entry-level; internships or cooperative experience in building design consulting are helpful but not required.
Required skills & abilities
- Knowledge of structural systems and design standards for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Strong technical and analytical ability in structural mechanics and material behavior.
- Familiarity with industry-standard structural analysis and design software.
- Basic knowledge of BIM tools and workflows.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% for project work.
Preferred
- Master’s degree (MS) in Structural Engineering.
- Prior internship experience in building design or consulting.
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
