Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Engineer to support nuclear, power-utility, and industrial projects. You will contribute to structural analysis and design for steel and concrete systems, help develop design documentation and calculation packages, and work with cross-functional teams to support project delivery. This role is an excellent fit for recent civil/structural graduates who want hands-on engineering experience and professional growth.


Responsibilities

  • Apply fundamentals of materials engineering, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design
  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations for static and dynamic load cases
  • Prepare design calculation packages and develop structural technical specifications
  • Support designers by providing analysis-based input for design drawings used in work packages and construction
  • Contribute to structural estimation and bid development for proposals
  • Participate in design reviews and coordinate with clients, vendors, and construction sites as needed (may require travel)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
  • EIT certification preferred
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; preferred experience with structural analysis and design tools such as SAP2000, RISA (connections), AutoCAD, Revit, or other FEA software
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with documentation for badge access (role requires site/badge security)
  • Ability to pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties

Location & Travel

  • Primary locations: Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS
  • Some travel may be required for design reviews, vendor meetings, and on-site construction coordination
