Position Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join their Temporary Works group within the Infrastructure Design organization. This role supports design-build delivery for transportation and infrastructure projects by developing temporary works solutions (formwork, falsework, support of excavation, temporary bridges, crane trestles, heavy lift planning, ABC techniques, personnel access/fall protection, erection/demolition plans, marine engineering, and construction-load evaluations). The role blends office design work with on-site engineering and coordination to ensure constructability, schedule efficiency, cost control, and safety.

This position is based in Lonetree, CO.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform calculations and structural designs for temporary structures and construction support systems.
  • Design formwork/falsework, temporary bridges, crane trestles, and support-of-excavation systems.
  • Plan and evaluate heavy crane lifts and provide erection/demolition sequencing for construction operations.
  • Apply Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques and develop personnel access and fall protection systems.
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and provide remedial or protective design recommendations.
  • Produce accurate engineering drawings and design documentation; ensure constructability and clarity in contract drawings.
  • Prepare engineering design cost estimates and identify design risks with mitigation plans.
  • Provide on-site engineering support, inspections, and coordination with construction teams as required.
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, materials) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Mentor and train peers as appropriate; participate in safety and quality processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred.
  • 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (entry-level).
  • Experience with temporary structures, construction engineering, or formwork/falsework preferred.
  • EIT licensure or eligibility within the United States.
  • Strong academic fundamentals in structural engineering, materials behavior, and structural mechanics.
  • Experience with engineering design software is an advantage: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel, accept TDY assignments, and/or relocate based on business needs.
  • Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments.

  • Work safely and follow established site and company safety procedures.
  • Ability to work during normal business hours and overtime or weekends as required.
  • Professional interaction with supervisors, peers, and construction personnel.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Compensation: $89,000 - $95,000 annually (actual compensation subject to variation due to education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
