What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to support building projects across multiple structural systems. In this role you will produce design work, participate in construction administration, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
- Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for structural steel, reinforced concrete, cold-formed steel, reinforced masonry, and structural wood systems
- Produce structural drawings using BIM tools and CAD workflows
- Perform construction administration tasks: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct site observations, and prepare reports
- Coordinate design efforts with architects, MEP, and other disciplines
- Assist project managers and follow established QA/QC procedures
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously
- Pursue ongoing professional development and training aligned with project and team needs
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited institution
- Registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT), or able to obtain EIT registration within 6 months of hire
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative team player
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience and skills are a plus and will help you advance quickly in the role:
- Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis)
- 1–2 years of professional structural engineering experience (co-op or internship experience is relevant)
- Familiarity with Bentley RAM Structural System / RAM Elements, Autodesk Revit and Construction Cloud, and AIA MasterSpec
- Working knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards
